Kyoeido 2024 Summer Release - Orange - Yamanashi Prefecture Limited

Fermented and aged for approximately 6 months in 500L medium barrels with skin contact fermentation and MC method.

I felt it was mandarin orange colored. Rich citrus notes like mandarin or guava, with aromas of acacia and butter. The palate is soft, with hints of cedar, a slightly sweet mace aroma, and butter adding complexity. The finish is long, with refreshing, slightly sweet citrus notes like lemon.

I'd like to enjoy it with seasoned chicken wings. It pairs well with chicken skin or gizzards, especially with tare sauce. Eel would also be a good match. I think it complements mirin and soy sauce well.
It can be enjoyed in both large and slender glasses. Both its aroma and taste would pair well with Japanese sweet tare, which is a median flavor profile.
