A new type of Niigata sake from a long-established brewery
This is a standard junmai ginjo sake from the popular Ryoko series.
It is a rich sake with an elegant fruity aroma and a light, fresh rice umami.
It has a moderately elegant fruity aroma that isn't too strong, and when you take a sip, a fresh fruitiness and a gentle, clean acidity and sweetness spread out, leading to a very smooth finish.
Unlike the traditional image of light and dry Niigata sake, this is a rich and flavorful junmai ginjo sake.
~About Ryoko~
"Ryoko" is a brand launched by the production manager of "Sharaku" after he moved to Minenohakubai Brewery, aiming to create the sake he truly wanted to make.
・Origin of the name
Maki Ryoko, a calligrapher from the end of the Edo period, was from Fukui Village, where the brewery is located.
The brand was named after this great local figure.
The font used for the product name is taken from Maki Ryoko's own handwriting.
Today, breweries across Japan are striving to find the ideal form of new sake. They are continuously experimenting with how to incorporate modern essences into traditional culture. Minenohakubai has taken this step into a new challenge.
It is produced by Kenji Ijima, a young toji (master brewer) from Aizu-Wakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture.
