[Coco Farm & Winery Imakoko Red 2024]

A gentle, hopeful red wine

Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, both Bordeaux varieties, along with the uniquely Japanese Koshu and Muscat Bailey A, grown with care across Japan, are fermented with wild yeast and wild lactic acid bacteria at the Ashikaga winery.

The aroma features fruits like raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry, a spicy note reminiscent of green pepper, and nuances of barrel aging such as licorice and cacao.

It has a light and fresh attack, very gentle tannins with no harshness in the flavor, and a medium acidity that gives the wine a fresh liveliness.
You can enjoy a supple and well-balanced flavor through to the finish.

Coco Farm & Winery is located at the foot of the mountain vineyard, which was established in the 1950s.
They produce wine from 100% Japanese grapes, using no herbicides or chemical fertilizers in their own vineyards, and primarily wild yeast for fermentation in the winery.
They listen carefully to the grapes and value bringing out their best characteristics.
