Kodama Jozo Co., Ltd. was founded in 1879 , when the founder, Kumenosuke Kodama , began brewing soy sauce and miso. Later, in 1908 , the business form was reorganized into a corporate organization. The following year, in 1941 , the Akita branch was established, and the company grew to establish an immovable position as a representative soy sauce and miso brewer in Akita.
