Lately, I often hear people say things like, "I don't like red wine" or "I used to drink it, but recently I only drink white." For those people, I highly recommend Onmitsu Wines' "MBA."

It refers to "Muscat Bailey A," a grape varietal native to Japan. Last year, it sold out in less than a month after its release. Like the "MBA 2023," this vintage is also crafted with meticulous and clean artisanal methods.

Onmitsu Wines is a winery run by a married couple based in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Shinichiro Ogura has an unusual background, having earned a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served as the head of the Space Utilization Promotion Office at the Science and Technology Agency (now the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
Their motto is to treat grapes not as mere objects, but as living beings, with love and care. They strive to make wine meticulously by hand, minimizing the use of large machinery and chemicals.
