[Genki Iwasaki Koshu Regional 2025]

A fruit-forward wine that unfolds beyond its cloudiness.

The "Regional" series is a line of wines created in collaboration with grape farmers in Tochigi Prefecture, including those outside of Tochigi City, to express the unique characteristics of the grapes grown in their respective regions.

Its appearance is brilliant, cloudy, milky white with a lemon-yellow hue.
The aroma evokes crushed raw apples, ripe apples, pears, white peaches, quince, ginger, acacia, and chamomile, suggesting a high level of grape ripeness.

The attack on the palate is light and juicy. It's dry with stone fruit flavors and a fresh texture.
The high acidity derived from malic acid and a light phenolic richness tighten the finish,
and the umami from the lees also harmonizes, leaving a lasting impression.

Although its appearance is quite cloudy, I really like its very fruity aroma and charming taste.
It is best enjoyed fresh, ideally within the year.

Genki Iwasaki, a winemaker from Tochigi Prefecture, trained for seven years at a prestigious domaine in Burgundy, France, and obtained the qualification of a French national certified enologist, one of the few Japanese to do so.
Based on world-class winemaking techniques, he is committed to making wines that reflect the climate of Tochigi, with the belief of "maximizing the expression of terroir and delivering the charm of the region to the world."
