Far back in the Sengoku period, the Oso district of Kai province was home to the Kurokawa gold miners. Our family has preserved an edict from the Takeda family dating back to Tenbun 12 (1543).
In Tenpo 5 (1834), Kazama Eki founded the sake brewing business. In Showa 61 (1986), Kai Winery Co., Ltd. was established in its historical kura-yashiki (storehouse-mansion).
While incorporating new ideas into its long-standing tradition and technology, it aims to produce high-quality wines that suit the delicate palate and food culture of the Japanese people.
