Onmitsu Wines is a winery run by a married couple based in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Shinichiro Ogura has an unusual background, including earning a master's degree from MIT and serving as the head of the Space Utilization Promotion Office at the Science and Technology Agency (now the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
Their motto is to treat grapes not as mere objects, but as living beings with affection. They strive to produce wine carefully by hand, minimizing the use of large machinery and chemicals.
