Sanyo Jozo Nigori Koshu 2025 750ml
Sanyo Jozo Nigori Koshu 2025
The second installment of a series of wines supporting grape growers, imbued with the passionate vision of the winemaker!
Released as the second installment of our grape grower support wine series, this is a nigori wine made from 100% Koshu grapes grown in Yamanashi Prefecture.
It boasts an appealing aroma reminiscent of warm Japanese citrus and a clean, refreshing taste. It's a table wine that naturally complements meals, perfect for everyday enjoyment.
During winemaking, natural fermentation was confirmed on the 4th day after crushing, the grape skins were pressed, and dried yeast was added on the 5th day. Furthermore, by not clarifying the must (debourbage), we aimed for a style that showcases the umami and strength derived from the grape skins, rather than the sharp, crisp taste often found in typical Koshu wines.
Its taste naturally blends with any meal and is never tiresome, making it truly a staple for daily dining. To retain as much of the carbon dioxide generated during fermentation as possible, no enzymes were added during bottling.
This is an approachable nigori wine that allows you to experience the gentle embracing power and deep flavor of Koshu grapes.
・Message from Keiji Yamada, Winemaking Director
"Nigori Koshu 2025" is a wine for everyday life, made from Yamanashi's Koshu grapes, and brewed and bottled in Japan. The price of 1300 yen (excluding tax) is the limit we reached after market research, and the quality was not compromised for the sake of a low price.
Grape growing is winemaking. Cultivating Koshu grapes has the same meaning as making wine. We want to continue this.
We want as many people as possible to enjoy it casually and abundantly.
It's a wine that naturally complements meals, with an umami reminiscent of Japanese citrus, a embracing quality, and a soft strength. We aimed for a wine that conveys its message gently, without being overly straightforward.
