In addition to their standard wines, our winemakers are constantly exploring new possibilities for Japanese wine, creating challenging cuvées in small batches.
From these, carefully selected cuvées are released in limited quantities as part of the "Winemaker's Challenge" series.
This "Winemaker's Challenge Okubo Skin Extraction 2022" uses Koshu grapes from the rare 0.17-hectare "Okubo" plot.
By employing an over-extraction method that involves pressing the grapes again after initial juicing to intensively extract skin components, the wine achieves a deep color and tannic grip, much like an orange wine.
