Merlot with a harmonious balance of deep fruit flavor and robust tannins

A field blend from Nubo Takeda, a young farmer engaged in organic farming.
Having experience brewing sake at a sake brewery and being a wine lover himself, he started making wine in 2020.

This time, it's Merlot only. Mr. Takeda's 2021 Merlot turned out to be the best ever.
The defoliation and cluster thinning timing and amount were perfect even for the early October harvest, and the wine, of course, turned out wonderfully.

After 2 months of maceration fermentation in an open tank, it was pressed and aged for 15 months before bottling.
After an additional year of bottle aging, it was released.

While the best drinking time is still a few years away, as of 2023, it is a wine with the fruitiness of well-ripened grapes, somewhat heavy tannins, and a rather dark color.

Fattoria AL FIORE produces wine by renovating a 폐교 (abandoned school) gymnasium in Miyagi Prefecture.
Aiming to "remain a wine that expresses the grapes as they are," they strive for a wine that, while not superficially impactful or flashy, purely conveys its inherent quality with every taste. They produce natural wines without added sugar, added acid, preservatives, or filtration.
