"Nasakesima" produced by Hachijo Kohatsu on Hachijojima Island in Tokyo, and "Ranbiki" produced by Ebisu Shuzo in Fukuoka Prefecture.
This is a one-time-only limited project that blends two original shochus that, while both barley-based, possess unique personalities.
Realized through years of friendship and trust, this project involved both breweries exchanging their original spirits and blending them according to their respective design philosophies—a truly novel experiment.
We have blended the fragrant barley shochu "Nasakesima" crafted by Hachijo Kohatsu with barrel-aged original spirits from Ebisu Shuzo's "Ranbiki."
Building upon a toasted, nutty aroma characteristic of roasted barley, the rich sweetness and subtle tartness from barrel aging layer together, creating a depth of flavor born from the marriage of these two distinct personalities.
We recommend starting it neat to savor the powerful, toasted notes of Nasakesima alongside the sweet, barrel-aged character of Ranbiki. On the rocks, as the ice melts, the aromas and sweetness gradually unfold, allowing you to enjoy the changing expressions of the spirit.
Mixed with soda, the fragrance is lightened and lifted, making it a refreshing drink that pairs easily with meals.
Diluted with water, the alcohol sensation softens, allowing for a balanced enjoyment of the barley and barrel flavors.
"Nasakesima" and "Ranbiki."
