・Origin of Tsukasa Peony
About 400 years ago , in 1603 , Fukao Izuminokami Shigeyoshi, the chief retainer who entered Tosa with Kazutoyo Yamauchi, was entrusted with 10,000 koku of Sagawa.
At that time, the ``Ozakaya'' that followed Mr. Fukao was the predecessor of Tsukasa Botan Sake Brewery.
During its long history as a liquor store, it is said to have a deep connection with Tosa's hero, Ryoma Sakamoto, and is also known as the brewery with the closest connection to Ryoma .
In 1918 , Sagawa 's sake brewers came together to establish a corporation. Count Mitsuaki Tanaka ( Ryoma Sakamoto, commander of the Rikuentai after the death of Shinta Nakaoka ) , a Meiji Restoration patriot from Sagawa who also served as the Imperial Household Minister in the new Meiji government, loved drinking this Sagawa sake and said, ``It is the richness of the country, and from now on, He gave a message of encouragement, saying, ``You should be the king of sake,'' and he named him ``Tsukasa Botan.''
The meaning is ``Peony is the king of flowers, and it should also be the ruler of all peonies.''
