The first generation of the Yokozawa family, who was from Wakasa ( present-day Fukui prefecture ) , ran a koji maker in the current location, but the history of Tsuki no Wa began in 1886 when the fourth generation Yokozawa, Tokuichi, was passionate about sake brewing and established a sake brewery.
Since successive heads of the family have been involved in sake brewing, the current owner, Yokozawa Daizo ( the 7th generation of the Yokozawa family ) , has been in charge of sake brewing as both head of the family and master brewer since 1991 .
When we incorporated on November 1 , 2005 , Yokozawa Yuko became the head brewer and we are now brewing sake under a new system.
