Haramo Koshu Sur Lie 2024 750ml
【HARAMO Koshu Sur Lie 2024】
A full-bodied white wine
This is a dry white wine with rich, complex aromas of peach and mango, made from Koshu grapes from Katsunuma, aged on lees for approximately 5 months using the Sur Lie method.
Please enjoy at around 7℃ to 11℃.
"Haramo" is a trade name, derived from the fact that the area was formerly called "Hara," and successive generations bore the name "Mozaemon," hence Haramo.
Established in 1924, we cultivate grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Yama Sauvignon, with Koshu, Yamanashi's representative variety, as our main focus. We have 1.5 hectares of our own vineyards, 4 hectares of contract vineyards with local farmers, and an annual production of 50 kiloliters.
※What is the Sur Lie method?
It is a winemaking method in which white wine is aged on its lees after fermentation.
Normally, in the white wine production process, the lees are removed immediately after fermentation.
However, with Sur Lie, by aging the wine on its lees without removing them, umami components such as amino acids and polysaccharides are extracted, imparting yeast-derived flavors and umami to the wine.
This is why most wines made using the Sur Lie method become flavorful white wines.
