Sakai Winery Aogera 2024 750ml [Refrigerated shipping recommended]
[Sakai Winery Green Woodpecker 2024]
Mellow texture and refreshing acidity
This wine is made from Mr. Abiko's Pinot Gris from Sagae, fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Pale greenish-bright yellow. Fresh pear and sweet white flower aromas.
Juicy yellow apple notes are also present on the palate, with lively acidity and a hint of bitterness that tightens the finish.
Sakai Winery, established in 1892, is the oldest winery in the Tohoku region.
Around 2007, the winery switched from conventional farming methods to organic grape cultivation in its own vineyards, and around 20 sheep are pastured in the fields for weed control.
The winery utilizes natural yeasts and microorganisms present in the land for winemaking and adheres to traditional methods, such as the non-filter method without using a filter, which has been practiced since its establishment, to produce wines rooted in the local terroir.
