The "W" in the brand name stands for Watanabe Brewery, World, and Warai (laughter).

W Akita Sakakomachi is a feminine sake of exceptional elegance and sweetness, exuding a mellow aroma reminiscent of rich, glossy white peaches.
It has an elegant sweetness and a crisp, light finish.

The "W Series" is rated as Junmai Daiginjo with rice polished to 50%, but it is labeled as Junmai-shu.
This is because they do not believe that further polishing rice or manipulating numbers approaches the true essence of what the W Series aims for.
