・What is the Hojo Prayer Festival? Since ancient times, the Japanese have cultivated a ``culture of prayer and fruitfulness'' with a sense of reverence for the blessings of the four seasons and nature. On February 17th, the first day of spring during the 24 solar terms, shrines across the country hold annual festivals to pray for rice cultivation. For sake brewers who brew Japanese style, the annual yield of rice has a deep impact on the taste of the final product, sake.

In addition, Seimei, the 24 solar terms, is a seasonal word that means the sprouting of new buds, and is said to occur around April 5th. Around this time, rice planting preparations are carried out across the country. Rice planting festivals are held at the Imperial Palace and in rice fields across the country, and rice planting has finally begun.
