The storehouse-style building blends in with the old streets of Hitachiota. Yonebishi Soy Sauce was founded by taking over a sake brewery, and has been producing authentic soy sauce here since 1800 (Kansei 12th year). In 1867 , the refined soy sauce "Hinagiku" was awarded a bronze monument when it was exhibited at the Paris World's Fair. The "Yonebishi" (rice diamond) is named after the company's original name, "Yoneya." The Yonebishi logo is shaped like "rice" and also expresses the wish for a happy "88th birthday."
