・Origin of the sake name "Garyubai"
"Garyu" refers to a dragon hidden on the ground, an analogy for a hero like Zhuge Liang who was hidden among the common people without the opportunity to pursue his ambitions. There is a "Garyubai" plum tree near Sanwa Shuzo's zen temple, said to have been planted by Tokugawa Ieyasu. Ieyasu, who later became the ruler of Japan, also had his "Garyu" period. Following the historical anecdote of Garyu, the sake was named "Garyubai" with the hope that it would someday be praised as the finest sake in the world.
