This whisky uses原酒 (genshu: undiluted sake) aged for over 8 years in carefully selected white oak bourbon barrels. Unpleasant flavor components are carefully removed, resulting in a mature and complex taste.

It has a pale golden color with fruity aromas reminiscent of dried oranges and a malty fragrance.
Upon tasting, a sweet flavor stands out amidst notes of vanilla and nuts, with a very soft mouthfeel.

Kurayoshi, where the Matsui Shuzo Kurayoshi Distillery is located and overlooks Mt. Daisen, has high-quality water essential for whisky production.
The climate on the Sea of Japan side has large temperature differences, which accelerates the aging of whisky compared to traditional whisky-producing regions.

Furthermore, the process of aging in barrels is considered a crucial step. They are researching to produce a variety of原酒 (genshu) by using barrels made of Mizunara oak or cherry wood, as well as wine or sherry barrels.
