Fermentation in modern stainless steel tanks creates a clean and fresh aroma, while subsequent aging in old barrels achieves a calm, matured effect without imparting barrel aromas.
Enjoy the refreshing aroma of Koshu grapes.
A soft, aged fragrance and lively acidity spread across the palate, followed by a pleasant finish.
This wine pairs well with dishes that highlight the natural flavors of ingredients like scallops and white fish.
・Excerpt from Ikeda Winery's Official Website
Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture, is a very small town, but it is widely known as the birthplace of Japanese wine and is considered one of the regions producing high-quality wines.
Toshikazu Ikeda, the winemaker, was captivated by wine at a young age, moved to Katsunuma, and worked as a winemaker at a winery in town.
In 1995, he realized his long-cherished dream of independence, and "Ikeda Winery" was established in Katsunuma.
For 15 years since its establishment, the winery has focused on crafting wines with exceptional taste.
"Through wine, the hearts of the maker and the drinker connect."
This is the ideal of Ikeda Winery.
