[Saburomaru IV THE EMPEROR]

A wisp of smoke rising from the wilderness.

Released as the fifth in the Saburomaru Single Malt Whisky series, distilled in 2020.

In 2020, Saburomaru Distillery brewed two types of peat: their traditional inland peat from the Highlands and sea peat from Islay.
Compared to Islay peat, inland peat has a more straightforward and powerful smokiness, with a dry nuance reminiscent of burning dry wood.

The wooden barrels introduced in the same year allowed for a variety of fermentation processes using unique lactic acid bacteria, resulting in a balance between fruity and malty flavors.
