A new expression of Albariño created by the terroir of the north

Niigata Wancoast, an early pioneer in commercializing Albariño in Japan, has created "le nord" (Le Nord) by leveraging their experience and knowledge to pursue the "potential of the north."

This wine embodies the producers' vision, who have found great potential in the Hokuriku and Tohoku regions considering rainfall and accumulated temperature. The 2023 vintage primarily uses Albariño from Yamagata Prefecture, blended with grapes from contracted farms in Niigata and their own vineyards.
With the increasing proportion of Niigata-grown grapes each year, the flavor continues to evolve.

The scorching summer of 2023 is reflected in the wine's quality, with elegant aromas of stone fruits like peach and apricot, apple honey, and citrus wafting from the glass.
Upon tasting, a rich fruitiness and gentle acidity spread across the palate, with a subtle astringency in the finish that tightens the overall profile, creating a multi-layered flavor.

Please enjoy this new expression of Albariño, born from the northern terroir, which is distinct from the sandy soil style.
