This plum liqueur is made from Nankou plums grown in Wakayama, the " plum-producing region," which are pickled while still fresh in their hometown of Wakayama, and then citrus juice is added.

It uses plenty of five types of fruit juice: Unshu mandarin, hassaku, daidai, amanatsu, and sanbokan .
