Cave an Wanriki Bran 2022 375ml
[Cave an Vice Blanc 2022]
The long-awaited first vintage from Masako Yasukura, the wine grower who is driving the further evolution of Koshu wine
A premium series that expresses the terroir of the winery's local Manriki region of Yamanashi City.
The wine is made from 98% Petit Manseng and 2% Albariño grown in our own sunny, sloped fields, and is fermented using cultured yeast at around 20°C for 12 days.
The color is a slightly cloudy yellow.
It has aromas of Japanese citrus fruits such as iyokan and hassaku, as well as pear, green apple, peach, and pineapple.
It has a smooth texture and a harmonious balance of elegant acidity, fruity sweetness, and honey-like flavor.
A tropical and juicy aftertaste lingers.
This white wine is characterized by its honey and tropical aromas and volume.
Cave an is a winery established in 2022 by Masako Yasuzo, a female winemaker who was in charge of cultivation and brewing at Marufuji Winery, a long-established winery in Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The winery's own vineyards are located in the mountainous area of Manriki, Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, at an altitude of about 400m, and cover six fields (approximately 1ha) where Koshu, Petit Manseng, Albarigne, Tannat, Petit Verdot, and Marselan are cultivated.
In the mountainous area of the Manriki district of Yamanashi City, which Yasuzo describes as ``a landscape reminiscent of the famous vineyards of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy, France,'' we aim to produce well-balanced, soft wines that reflect the terroir and go well with Japanese food.
