Founded in 1916 . It is the oldest brown sugar shochu brewery in the Amami Islands.
Asahi, which is both the company name and the representative brand, was named because Kikaijima is located in the easternmost part of the Amami Islands and is the first place to see the sunrise from the sea.
In addition, the rising sun also has a wish for the prosperity of the company.
Since then, it has been nurtured locally as a Seiya (island sake brewery) and has continued to this day.
With a tradition approaching 100 years old, we have refined various techniques and recipes that bring out the flavor of shochu, and we are particular about making shochu that is full of the blessings of the island and is homemade.
