It is prepared using underground water rich in minerals and distilled under normal pressure.

It has a gentle sweet aroma of brown sugar that spreads faintly, and a wide range of flavors with a soft texture and a hint of sweetness and richness.
The aftertaste is light and crisp and refreshing.

Founded in 1916 . This is the oldest brown sugar shochu brewery in the Amami Islands.
The company name and representative brand, "Asahi," was named because Kikaijima is the easternmost of the Amami Islands and is the first place to see the sunrise over the ocean.
The rising sun also carries a wish for the prosperity of the company.
Since then, it has been nurtured locally as Shima no Seya (island sake brewery) and continues to this day.
With a tradition that is almost 100 years old, we have refined various techniques and recipes that bring out the flavor of shochu, and we are particular about using homemade ingredients that are full of the blessings of the island.
