A Merlot with a deep fruitiness and rich tannins.

A field blend by Takeda Nobuhiro, a young farmer who is committed to organic farming.
With experience in brewing at a sake brewery and being a wine lover, he started brewing wine himself in 2020.

Only Merlot this time. The 2021 Merlot by Nobuhiro Takeda was the best ever.
Even though the harvest was in early October, the timing and amount of leaf removal and bunch thinning prior to that was perfect, and the wine naturally turned out excellent.

After 2 months of fermentation in an open tank, it is pressed and aged for 15 months before being bottled.
It was then aged in bottle for a further year before being released.

Although it will probably be a few more years before it is ready to drink, even as of 2023, this wine has the fruitiness of well-ripened grapes, slightly heavy tannins and a fairly dark color.

Fattoria AL FIORE produces wine in a renovated gymnasium from a closed school in Miyagi Prefecture.
