[Haramo Koshu Sur Lee 2022】
A drinkable white wine
This dry white wine is made from Koshu grapes grown in Katsunuma and aged on the lees for approximately five months using the sur lie method, resulting in a complex, rich aroma of peach and mango.
Please enjoy at around 7℃ to 11℃.
"Hara Shigeru" is the family name, which was chosen because the place was long ago called Hara and because successive generations of the family had inherited the name Shigezaemon.
Founded in 1924 , the company has 1.5 hectares of its own vineyards and 4 hectares of vineyards contracted with local farmers , with an annual production of 50 kiloliters. The company cultivates grape varieties such as Koshu, Yamanashi's representative variety, as well as Chardonnay, Merlot, and Yama Sauvignon.
* What is the Sur Lie method?
This is a winemaking method in which white wine is aged on the lees after fermentation.
In the white wine brewing process, racking is usually done immediately after fermentation.
However, by aging the wine on the lees without racking it, umami components such as amino acids and polysaccharides are extracted, giving the wine a yeast-derived flavor and umami taste.
This is why most of the wines produced on lees are tasty white wines.
