Kakutama plum wine 720ml/1800ml
[Kakudama plum wine]
Plum wine made with authentic rice shochu from a brewer famous for “Harukou Yuyaku”
This plum wine was first exported from Japan to the United States in 1958 (Showa 33).
Rice shochu brewed by atmospheric distillation is stored and aged for three years, and then plums are pickled and aged for one year.
The reason why you can enjoy the refreshing and umami-rich plum flavor is because filtration is kept to a minimum. As a result, the pulp has settled, but this proves that many of the umami components of the plum remain.
The scent is reminiscent of sweet honey, and the elegant acidity and sweetness are well-balanced, and the refreshing aftertaste means you won't get tired of drinking it.
This plum wine has plenty of plum extract in its well-ripened roundness.
At Kura-sama, we also recommend pouring a little bit on vanilla ice cream.
