This plum wine was first exported from Japan to the United States in 1958 (Showa 33).
The rice shochu brewed using normal pressure distillation is stored and aged for three years, after which it is soaked with plums and aged for another year.
The refreshing and delicious flavor of plums can be enjoyed because the filtration is kept to a minimum. As a result, the pulp settles, but this is proof that a lot of the plum's umami components remain.
It has a sweet honey-like aroma, a well-balanced balance of elegant acidity and sweetness, and a clean aftertaste that you won't tire of drinking.
This plum wine has a rich plum extract that can be felt in its well-matured, rounded taste.
