The 2026 version of "Ura Muichibutsu" has arrived, an even more special shochu than "Muichibutsu", released only once a year in limited quantities.
This year, in response to numerous requests, a 1.8-liter (issho-bin) size has also been introduced.
Iki-no-Kura Distillery carefully selected several barrels from over 300 sherry barrels, blending them based on unique, high-level standards: the noble and rich aroma characteristic of barrel aging, deep color, and the mellow mouthfeel created by maturation.
For those trying Ura Muichibutsu for the first time, we recommend the "Ura Muichibutsu ~Carefully Selected~" mixed with carbonated water in a 1:3 ratio.
This results in an alcohol content of 7% to 8%, offering a refreshing taste while still allowing you to fully enjoy the noble aroma.
For those accustomed to drinking shochu, we recommend trying it on the rocks first. Enjoy the complex intertwining aromas of the barrel as you sip, then savor the slightly bitter taste and the lingering caramel-like sweetness and umami that spreads in your mouth.
It is recommended as a drink to enjoy with meals, but also perfect for a post-meal setting where you can simply savor the alcohol.
