Although it has a very dry sake meter value of +12, you can still taste the rice flavor typical of pure rice sake.
It starts off gently on the palate, but then the spiciness hits and cuts off sharply.
It leaves a nice lingering aftertaste, but then disappears like melting snow.

This sake has an unusual name and label, but it is named after the Abominable Snowman who appears in the book "Hokuetsu Seppu," which was a best-seller in the late Edo period.
The Yeti that appears in this book is written as someone who helps climbers on snowy mountains.
As a result of this connection, a portion of the sales of the Yukio Junmai sake will be donated to the Minamiuonuma County Mountain Disaster Prevention Council.
