Lately, I often hear people say things like, "I don't like red wine," or "I used to drink it, but lately I only drink white." For those people, I highly recommend trying Onmitsu Wines' "MBA."

This refers to the "Muscat Bailey A," a grape variety indigenous to Japan. Last year, the "MBA2023" sold out within less than a month of its release. Similar to the 2023 vintage, this year's wine is also crafted with meticulous and clean artisanal methods.

Onmitsu Wines is a winery run by a married couple based in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Shinichiro Ogura has an unconventional background, including a master's degree from MIT and serving as the head of the Space Utilization Promotion Office at the Science and Technology Agency (now the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology).
Their motto is to treat grapes not as mere objects, but as living things with love and care. They minimize the use of large machinery and chemicals, meticulously crafting their wines by hand.
