Katsu means to overcome oneself.
To commemorate the release of the Katsu Limited Label, it was dedicated to the Omi Shrine in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture, home to one of Japan's largest "sazareishi" (small, gravel-like stones).
By drinking Katsu, you are embracing good luck and aiming for victory, making it a shochu that symbolizes triumph.
This shochu is a blend of three white koji genshu (undiluted sake) brewed using sweet potatoes and water from various regions within Kagoshima Prefecture.
Finally, a small amount of black koji genshu is blended in, and further aging creates its unique flavor.
It has a fragrant sweet potato aroma and a gentle, smooth taste with no harshness.
When you take a sip, a subtle sweetness spreads, accompanied by a rich umami flavor.
It has a mellow finish and is well-balanced, so you won't tire of drinking it.
