Marunishi Whimsical Dragonfly 1800ml
[Marunishi Kimagure Kaze Tonbo]
A Masterpiece of Barley from the Whimsical Toji
This shochu was created as a barley shochu by Marunishi, a producer of imo (sweet potato) shochu.
By finishing it with atmospheric distillation, it fully expresses the authentic taste of barley.
This shochu has a unique, indescribable character with a rich aroma.
It is truly a masterpiece from the whimsical toji, who boasts that "changes in flavor are a sign of humanity" when preparing it each year.
Southeast of Marunishi Shuzo is the Fugen-do Spring Water Source, a water source recognized as one of Japan's Top 100 Exquisite Waters of the Heisei Era.
The water is used for rice paddy irrigation and as a cold spring for a local health spa, cherished by people as an essential part of their lives.
This water source is home to 38 species of dragonflies, including the Hetchin-tonbo (Eurasian Vagrant Dragonfly), the smallest dragonfly in Japan.
This barley shochu embodies the desire to be a shochu distillery that can express itself freely, like a dragonfly flying around freely, by replacing the beloved water with the Hetchin-tonbo that inhabits it.
