Nanakubo is a sweet potato shochu developed by Sadao Maemura, who became famous as the Toji (master brewer) of the premium sweet potato shochu "Mao," shortly after his transfer from Shiratama Jozo to Azuma Jozo. It was created to be enjoyed with meals as a culinary drink.

Its light, rounded aroma, flavor that softly spreads across the tongue, and smooth finish with a clean aftertaste do not overpower the meal.
