【Hon-Nigori from Shirogane Distillery】

The "Hon-Nigori Series" is a revived sweet potato shochu, brought back to life in response to many enthusiasts' desire to drink the "nigori shochu" (cloudy shochu) with its rich potato flavor, which was popular during the Meiji and Taisho periods!

During the Meiji and Taisho eras, shochu was extremely valuable, so to obtain as much alcohol as possible, they reportedly distilled to the very end, including the low-alcohol portion at the end of distillation (called "suidare").
While this "suidare" has a strong potato aroma, it also contains many off-flavors.

The potato aroma is desired, but the off-flavors are not. Thus, if the raw materials were thoroughly processed and polished sweet potatoes... this meticulous production method resulted in a cloudy shochu with rich potato aroma and few off-flavors.

Any floating matter is part of the umami components, so shaking it well to dissolve will make it even more delicious.
