Yamatozakura Cup Car United Rice & Imo Shochu 550ml
[Yamato Sakura Kopunkar United Rice & Imo Shochu]
Limited to 792 bottles! A rare potato shochu made with a mix of rice malt from two countries, brewed to commemorate 135 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.
Regular potato shochu is brewed with either 100% Japanese rice or 100% Thai rice koji.
Unlike traditional potato shochu, Yamato Sakura Kop Khuk Ka is brewed using a "mix of rice koji from two countries," an exquisite mix of carefully selected "Hinohikari" rice from Kagoshima Prefecture and "Golden Phoenix," Thailand's finest fragrant rice (jasmine rice).
The flavors of anise, apricot kernel, and coconut harmonize with the sweet aroma of vanilla and caramel, spreading the powerful taste of Kagoshima potatoes.
This potato shochu has a fragrant aroma reminiscent of roasted sweet potatoes or popcorn, a clear sweetness, and a smooth texture, and is carefully brewed by experienced brewers.
The alcohol content is 41%, which is rare for Yamato Sakura Sake Brewery, and this is the stage at which the characteristic aromas of the rice and potato blend together during distillation.
It can be enjoyed simply, such as straight or on the rocks, but it is also a great drink to combine with a variety of ingredients in cocktails.
The packaging and label design was created by Moe Furuya of Study&Design, who is well-known for her design work in a wide range of genres.
It has a distinctive design that looks like a single grain of Thai rice stuck to the bottle.
"Kopkunka" means "Thank you" in Thai and was created to commemorate 135 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan and to pray for world peace.
Yamatozakura Kop Khuk Ka is a symbol of harmony, born from a collaboration between Yamatozakura Sake Brewery and United Rice Ball, an organization that connects the world with rice balls made from a mixture of Japanese and international rice.
Please enjoy the rich harmony between Japan and Thailand.
