Syrah × Cabernet Franc: A Small Story of 574 Bottles
"Rouge BA 2024" is a natural wine made from grapes grown in a vineyard in Akeno, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The producer is Artisan Mariage Vineyards, managed by Kiyotaka Hirose.
The grapes used are 68% Syrah and 32% Cabernet Franc, carefully hand-picked.
After destemming, a portion undergoes carbonic maceration with whole clusters for about one week, then ferments naturally with wild yeasts.
After fermentation, it is aged for about one year in old barrels, undergoing malolactic fermentation, and then released after bottle aging.
It is an unfiltered, unfined, and sulfite-free clean natural style.
When poured into a glass, it displays a somewhat bright dark cherry red hue.
Aromas of black fruits reminiscent of blueberry and cassis are layered with notes of violet flowers, fresh herbs, and subtle spices.
The palate is smooth, with a harmonious balance of gentle tannins and vibrant acidity.
The richness of the fruit and a subtle bitterness create a pleasant finish, resulting in a taste that combines lightness with depth.

Artisan Mariage Vineyards is a winery managed by Kiyotaka Hirose. After working in photography and video production, he pursued winemaking, cultivating a vineyard in the cool highland region of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. He produces small-batch natural wines using natural winemaking methods such as no filtration, no fining, based on cultivation that respects the natural environment and fermentation with wild yeasts. The charm lies in the pure taste that brings out the individuality of the land.
